Goffin's
by: Bonita Dubil

I believe that you have a Goffin's cockatoo. I had a very wonderful one that could talk like an African gray and did a lot of tricks. It was even learning to roller skate. When it was 3 years old I lost this fantastic bird in a house fire which was 6 years ago and I still cry over it's loss.
Just to let you know that this species of cockatoo is not usually very talkative. Mine was an exception because his vocabulary was huge. He could go on for 30 minutes non stop.

I now have an Eclectus male, usually good talkers, but mine is 9 years old and only says Hi.
Go figure.

cockatoo
by: Anonymous

This sounds like a goffins cockatoo. I have 5 of them and they grow to from 10-13 inches, depending on female or male. They live to be 30-50 years old and are called the clowns of the cockatoo world.

They are sweet birds and are very active. They need LOTS of toys to keep them occupied, but yet they can be very cuddly when they want to. They can also scream, lol.

If you could post a picture it would help.

What type of cockatoo
by: Tracie

The peachy color sounds like a Moluccan, but the they are not completely white, and the Sulfer Crested Cockatoo has a yellow crest, so I am not sure what you have. You may have a species that is not available in the US. Please post a picture for us to see.

Please look at our Cockatoo Information page for more information, pictures and cockatoo stories.
