Why did my African Grey suddenly started flipping his food bowl over?

This is a new development with our African Grey. A few months ago he began flipping his food bowl over. He likes to eat with us & he has a bowl for his dry food (the one he mostly flips) & the other for fruit & other treats. Any ideas as to why this behavior started & how to prevent. Locking his bowl has been a bit difficult.

There are probably two reasons for flipping his bowl. It gets your attention which Grey's want more than anything else. And he has discovered it is fun. Partially, from making the noise as the food comes out but then you get to entertain him while you clean it up and fuss at him.
