Why did my parrot die?

by Tina

Quaker Parrot - His name is Arthur

I found my parrot at the bottom of the cage in the middle of the night. He was fine the day before, eating normally and drinking water. I am very careful about his surroundings, making sure he is covered when he goes to sleep and has no draft. Can you help me? He was his active self, biting as usual the day before.

I am so sorry
by: Anonymous

My great billed parrot just died yesterday, and I don't know why. I noticed the day before he died that he looked weak(Sunday),, and as I was calling the vets Monday morning, Tahi died in my hands. I do not know why. I had him for 11 years. I hate coming to conclusions, but it seems like so many people are saying how their parrots are dying suddenly, and so many things are made in China, including bird toys, I actually started thinking that maybe the new bird toy I bought for my Tahi was an inferior product or something. I don't know. But I am sorry for your loss.and sorry for my loss, too.

Avoid fumes
by: Anonymous

Are you being sure to avoid scented candles, plug-ins, cooking with teflon pans, strong cleaners, etc? Also, too close to a gas stove could be harmful. Remember, they are very susceptable to fumes of any kind.

Bird died in the night
by: Tracie

I am very sorry, how sad. The only was to know what happened is if you take your bird to an avian vet for a necropsy. There are too many reasons to list that could have caused your bird's death, and the list will not solve the question.

I am very sorry.
