Crying bird
by: AZ

My vet suggests that a bird gets anywhere from 10-14 hours of good sleep per night. Some are okay with 10, others need that 14.

My birds know when its bedtime and let me know. Sounds to me your bird is trying to tell you the same thing. I put my birds to bed each night at the same time. (8 pm) and in the mornings they are rustling about btwn 7-8 am. Mine do well with 11-12 hrs per night.

Your bird needs a quiet, dark room to roost. If a dark room isnt always possible, then consider covering him for that period of time.

My vet even suggested on busy late nights, to could get a small cage or carrier to put my bird in, so she can be moved to a quiet, dark room to roost for the night. (like when family come to visit).

Your bird will be much happier when she's getting the amount of sleep she needs.

Good luck!

Bird crying out at night
by: Tracie

It could be that your bird needs you to move it to a dark room to sleep, if you stay up late and your bird doesn't have a way to get peace to sleep.
