I am sorry this never got answered. I can not tell from the pictures what kind of bird you have, sorry.

It is fine that the bird only likes bird food, if the bird food is high quality pellets like Harrison's or Roudybush. Your bird should be eating about 80% pellets and only 20% healthy treats. Do not feed colored pellets or pellets with sugar and a bunch of chemicals.

I suggest you clip the bird's wings and do the training indoors. Please make sure that you are with the bird when it is outside. It can get a disease from the wild birds if they land on the cage or poop in the cage. Also, there are small snakes that can squeeze through the cage bars.
