Why is my amazon parrot do a high pitch squeal at night?

Question is... when your bird is ready to roost for the night... Is there a light on? Prehaps he is letting you know it's time for bed, and he wants the dark? Consider your birds surroundings at bed time.

My birds, when they are ready to roost for the night, will let me know but letting out a few squawks, if they lights are still on.

Birds have their own way of letting you know what they want. Esp if you dont listen, they will have the tendency to get louder.

My IRN, she wants it quiet, and dark. She lets out a few cute noises, if I dont respond within what she feels is acceptable timing, she will get a bit louder until the lights are off, and she's content. My birds bedtime is at 8pm. Believe it or not... They know when it's 8pm. All my birds are on a set schedule. Birds should get (according to my vet), a good 12 hrs sleep each night.

Give this a try. See if it helps. All birds are different. Mine all seem to want the same thing at bed time.
