Wild baby mocking bird

by Andrea kitsch
( Covington ga.usa)

I found a wild baby mocking bird. I looked up what I should do. I put her in a nest I had found & put it in the tree where she was found under.
I watched & the mother who I saw was looking for her baby. Yesterday I looked & did not see him but I could hear his mother comunicating with him. Today our neighbors little girl found him with a swollen knot.
I know the poor little thing is not gonna make it.
I also gave it water that first day, so I'm wondering if it got in his lungs.

My question is: I own a sun conure & I need to know if I should be worried about my bird catching disease? I washed my hands changed close even took a shower. I only handled him once & that was when I put him back in the tree & wass pretty clean as I said above before I got near my conure more less holding him. I feel horrible for the wild little bird, but I cannot & willnot lose my lose my sweet conure.
Thank you,
Andrea

I feel like you are safe since you washed and changed clothes.
