yellowr tail feather on blue & gold macaw.

I have a Blue & Gold Macaw that has a solid Yellow tail feather does this mean he is sick or has an illness? Or is he just rare?

Blue and Gold with yellow feather

This could be caused by many different things. Nutritional deficiencies are possible if he is not on a pellet diet. It could be a physiological problem with that feather follicle. It could be just a genetic mutation. It could be that this follicle was damaged at some time. I recommend that you fed a pellet diet, Harrison's is the best, and take him to an avian veterinarian for annual check ups.
